Visit any of our school buildings in the month of February and you will notice our staff in casual clothes. These staff members generously made a donation to the Lamphere Scholarship Fund as part of the "Casual for a Lamphere Cause" fundraiser and now have the opportunity to dress down for the month. The totals are in and Lamphere Staff has raised over $5,000 this month to help Lamphere students continue their education after high school.
"The Lamphere Scholarship Fund was instituted four years ago and has awarded over $43,000 in scholarships to Lamphere students to date," said Marsha Pando, Lamphere's Superintendent. "Our goal is to grow the fund so it becomes self sustaining. I appreciate the efforts of our staff to help make this happen."
In addition to "Casual for a Cause" the district holds a Trivia Night fundraiser for the Scholarship Fund. This year's event is the 5th annual and has grown every year, with teams returning year after year for the fun and great cause. "Our team is all set for this year," said Nancy Box, Lamphere High School parent. "We are looking forward to a great time and are ready to challenge for the championship."
If you would like to join us on March 12, we'd love to see you.

Supporting education in local communities is important to Dearborn Federal Credit Union (DFCU). With that in mind, Mike Dailey from the Madison Heights branch office presented Lamphere Board of Education President Brad Lyon and Superintendent Marsha Pando with a $5,000 donation to the Lamphere Scholarship Fund at the January 26, 2010 Board of Education meeting. This was DFCU's second donation in as many years.
"This is an incredible donation. We are so appreciative of your generosity and the impact it will have on the future of our students," said Pando. "The Lamphere Scholarship Fund was instituted four years ago and we've been able to award over $43,000 in scholarships to graduating students in this short time. Donations like this will help us continue to help students continue their education."

Without a doubt, Lamphere is a unique district. A district full of people who've become a family, have a great sense of community, care about all students and each other.
We asked staff, students and our community to submit ONE WORD, the first word that came to mind when they thought about Lamphere. The response was incredible, and the results... they say it all.
