Have you ever called to report a technical problem, and come to find out that it was a simple mistake that caused the problem in the first place? Check below for some simple questions to ask yourself when you are experiencing technical difficulties.
Is it plugged in? A simple loose plug can cause some not so simple power problems.
Is it turned on? You may be thinking “umm… yeah… duh… I turned it on!” You would be surprised how many times people turn something off when they think they are turning it on.
Are all of the other cables in the back of the unit plugged in? Custodians do occasionally move things to clean - could they have accidentally unplugged something?
Has someone else had problems with the same piece of equipment? Don’t rack your brain for what you are doing wrong when it may be the equipments fault.
And now for the most important tip I can give you…
Have you completely powered down and then restarted (rebooted) the unit? Many times you can correct the problem by simply rebooting the equipment.
